Home.
What exactly does that mean?
Sometimes home to us is where we grew up. Where we "started" from.
To some of us, home is where we live now. Where we hang our hat. Where we keep our families and our pets.
A home isn't a place. It's not a person. It's not a thing.
It's not something we can touch.
Home.
It's a place of comfort.
Comfort. It's a feeling we all strive for in life.
I believe the word home and the word comfort definitely go hand in hand. When we feel at home somewhere, it's because we are in a state of comfort.
Many people strive to feel at home somewhere. We want a place where we belong. Sometimes it's harder for others to figure out where their home is. They can't find home because they have one foot in front of the other.
I always thought that once I got married and settled into our new forever house, that I would always be home. That would be it. Life would be smooth sailing from here on out.
But I was wrong.
First, before we find home, we must find ourselves.
I've realized that home is a state of mind. It's a sense of belonging in a community. It's a realization of your passions, your dreams and the true meaning of why you are here on this Earth.
Home isn't a place where you rest your hat. That's where you live.
If you're constantly searching for that place where you can call home, maybe you're looking in all the wrong places.
Try looking inside yourself.
Have you found yourself yet? Once you do, then you'll be home.
Home truly is where the heart is.
Make yourself at home.
Hi Kelly - I just wanted to drop a comment after reading this post....I wanted to comment after reading your last post, but I was a little chicken since I don't comment here much and don't know you in real life. But it seems like there is a {change in the wind} going on right now in your personal life, and I just wanted to encourage you to do what you think is best. At the end of the day it's about being happy with yourself and your choices -
