Beat the #Winter Blues

So, as a lot of you know, I love products. Things that make your life easier and more enjoyable. Once in a while, I love getting off the farm to try and discover new things. And, most of all, I love to share them!

This #winter has been long and it's been snowy. I actually like it. I know most of you don't, however! Here are a few of my favorite products right now that may help with some of your winter blues. I actually went out of my comfort zone trying a few of these things this winter!

1. GE 6-Quart Digital Slow Cooker
This guy has been awesome for me. I received it as a shower gift before I got married. There are a lot of bad reviews because of the non-stick coating. I haven't had any issues with mine. Granted, I use the crock pot liners. What I like about it is that it has a retractable cord and it's programmable. So, if I only want something to cook for 4 hours, that's what I will set it to. Once it's done cooking, it will automatically switch over to the warming setting. You don't have to worry about your food over-cooking! There are beginning to be quite a few of these programmable machines on the market. This one has been the cheapest in price so far.

2. Bigelow Earl Grey Black Tea
Never thought I'd be a hot tea drinker but it has grown on me this winter. If you're new to hot black tea, this is a great flavor to start with. It's a true classic. It was my Poppa's favorite. Wish he was still around so we could chat over a hot cup!

3. Netflix
Can't tell you enough how much we have enjoyed Netflix here at the house. Fortunately our DVD player has Internet hook up so we pull ours onto our TV from it. With all the snow storms we've had, we've been snowed-in quite a bit. When you're snowed in, there's no visiting Blockbuster or Redbox. I've enjoyed being able to discover new shows and have access to all the episodes and seasons right in front of me!

4. Erin Condren Life Planner
Hands down best planner I've ever owned. It's bright, colorful and keeps me on track from a day-to-day basis. When your trapped at home for days on end, it's easy to forget what day it is or what you're suppose to be doing. This guy has kept me on track the past month! For more information, check out my review in a blog post I did weeks back.

5. #Eos Smooth Sphere Lip Balm
You know, I've always been a Burts girl. Still am. However, my mom got me hooked on this new lip balm this winter. It's not cool and tingly like Burts which is great for the summertime. I love the large coverage area of this balm as it completely moisturizes dry flaky lips in a snap. I don't know about you, but my lips aren't pretty in the winter. I was fortunate to get a few of these in my stocking so I have one stuck in all my important places! Office, living room, bedroom, bathroom and of course my purse.

6. #Essie Nail Polish in Sand Tropez
I will be the first to say that I've never really been into painting my finger nails. With my lifestyle, it chips too easily and really I just never had time for it. However, this winter, I decided to give it another chance and I've had pretty good luck with Essie's polish. I particularly am in love with this color because it's very neutral and goes well with my fair skin. It hides my ugly winter-time nails that tend to split and get dried out easily. P.S. You can find Essie on Amazon way cheaper than at the drug stores!

7. #Bogs Women's Classic High Handles
Guys, I get cold feet so easily it's ridiculous. It makes me want to avoid going outside. With these boots, I no longer want to avoid going outside in the winter. These are hands down the best winter boots I've ever had. My feet DO NOT get cold in these even when I'm in sub zero temps for hours. Obviously they are more functional than they are stylish but I actually enjoy their style as I am not much of a girly girl. I don't need the fur and all the frills. These are simple, water proof and warm. Just what I needed! They also can be worn in the early spring to fight off mud. They're a wee bit warm for summer but Bog also makes rain boot for that purpose. They're rated for -40 temperatures! You can't find that in a boot very often. PLEASE invest in these. You will love them. They're on sale this time of year!

8. #Carhartt Sock Hats
Hands down my favorite stocking hat. They always fit my head just right and they are super warm. They just breathe nicely. My head doesn't get that icky sweaty, itchy feeling. Carhartt stuff wears nicely so you can wash it over and over. I love how many styles and colors you can find these hats in!

9. Fleece Lined Leggings
Again, went out of my comfort zone this winter and gave these a try. They're very warm and comfortable. They pair nicely with my Bogs. It's very hard to get baggy jeans or sweatpants tucked into my Bogs. They can also double as "long johns aka long underwear" as they are thin enough to wear under your jeans. I don't have a specific brand to recommend to you guys because I'm still seeing how well mind hold up. Mine came from our local boutique. I see them all over, though! They're on sale too as most winter items are right now.
