Mason Jar Monday: Ball Jar Heritage Collection

I don't know about you guys, but I am excited to see Ball bring back their famous "Perfect Mason" blue jars for their 100th anniversary. 100 years of creating jars! They must be doing something right.

I am definitely a fan of the antique jars and at first I wasn't cool with the idea of them being replicated. They've grown on me since and I think it's pretty cool that everyone has the opportunity to can or decorate with the beautiful blue hue just like our grandmother, great and great great grandmothers once did.

So they're not exactly just like the antique version, but they have a fun modern but vintage twist to them and not to mention they are up to date and functional for canning. You find these 16 oz (pint) jars at most of your big box stores like Wal-Mart, Kmart, Target and local farm stores. You can also order them from Amazon! They're on sale 10.99 for a case of 6

These Ball Heritage Jars also come in a green hue!

What do you think? Are you a fan of the blue or the green? I personally a fan of the blue!

I haven't ordered a case myself yet but it's definitely on my wish list! I am not quite sure what I would do with them yet. There's just something about the real antique version with the galvanized lids that I am very fond of...

Are you excited for these jars? Do you have any? What would you use them for?

  1. I've seen these out and about, but haven't picked any up yet either! I have several of the old blue jars and use them in my pantry at home to store dry goods.
